The Ehime Maru recovery operation

The Ehime Maru sank in 2,000 feet of water on Feb. 9 after it was struck by the Navy submarine USS Greeneville. Nine people, including students, teachers and crew died that day. The primary effort to recover their remains and their personal effects will take place in 115 feet of water near the airport reef runway, using a team of more than 60 divers and support personnel. The work is expected to take about a month.
