The Ehime Maru recovery operation

The Crowley 450-10 barge

The 400-foot-long barge will serve as the platform for divers working on the Ehime Maru. The recovery operation will be monitored and supervised from the deck.

The barge also holds storage tanks for diesel fuel and lubricating oil pumped from the ship, and has living accommodations for 80 people. Once the operation is complete, the barge will deliver the ship to its final resting place 6,000 feet under water.
