Grand Honors

Last Sunday, 6- and 9-year-old finalists vied for the grand champion title in the "Al Waterson and You Singing Competition" at Don Ho's Island Grill (Aloha Tower Marketplace, 528-0807).
Tonight, keiki 10 to 12 years old will compete for the same bragging rights.
Teens between 13 and 17 years will face off on November 15; adults 18 to 55 will take the stage on November 22; and singers 55 years and older will fight for the spotlight on November 29.
Tickets to the dinner buffet and finals competition cost $35 for adults and $22 for keiki 10 years and younger. The dinner buffet is served from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Meditative Time
In celebration of his 20th anniversary in "creating and capturing beauty," glam photographer Russell Tanoue will play host to "Temple: The Celebration," Friday, Nov. 20 at Chai's Island Bistro (Aloha Tower Marketplace, 585-0011).
Cover charge is $10 and VIP tickets are $25, which includes a pupu buffet, cocktail sampling and entertainment.
Dress code will be red and/or gold. Allure swimwear models will also put on a fashion show, with hair and make-up done by Christine Gardner of Flaunt.
DJ R.O.B. will fly in from Las Vegas to spin the turntable.
This week's special guests at the restaurant will be the Makaha Sons on Thursday and Na Palapalai on Friday. Willie K is scheduled to return on November 19.
Alluring Sounds
Uncle's Fish Market & Grill (Pier 38, 1135 N. Nimitz Highway, 275-0063) reels in guests with live music Friday through Sunday nights, and during lunch on Sundays.
