Jack in the Box restaurants in Hawaii are running a promotion this month in which customers will receive one free regular iced coffee with any purchase.

Company officials said the "Coffee for Kamaaina" promotion is intended to ease the financial burden for diners during tough economic times.

The restaurant recently began serving a new Kona blend in its Oahu and Maui locations produced by local vendor Hawaiian Paradise Coffee. The Jack in the Box restaurant in Hilo is also participating in the promotion, although that restaurant serves a different coffee brand.

Jack in the Box has 2,200 restaurants in 18 states, including 26 locations in Hawaii.
