Spooky Time
Guests who wear their Halloween costume to dinner on Saturday at Sansei Restaurant & Sushi Bar (2552 Kalakaua Ave., Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, 931-6286) and next door at d.k Steak House (931-6280) will receive a 25-percent discount off all food.
Sansei entree specials include "R.I.P." blackened mahimahi ($24.95), "Spooky Bones" brasied shortribs ($28.95), "Trick-or-Treat" roll ($18) and "Vampire" roll ($18).
At d.k's, chefs will prepare "Frankenstein's" lamb shanks ($28.95), "Spider Web" soft shell crab ($24.95) and such "Monster" steaks as a 22-ounce ($38.95) or a scary 40-ounce ($65) bone-in rib eye and a hefty 24-ounce Porterhouse ($45).

Turkey-to-Go
Panya Bakery (711 Queen St., 597-8880) will again offer complete Thanksgiving dinners to go.
Enough for six people, the holiday dinner costs $198, which includes a choice of mochi-rice-stuffed roast turkey or honey-mustard-glazed ham.
Dinner comes complete with mesclun-and-heart-of-Romaine salad, an appetizer platter and choice of pumpkin crunch, or pumpkin, custard or pumpkin-custard pie.
Modern Menu
Always much anticipated, chef Hiroshi Fukui's contemporary kaiseki dinner will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10 at Hiroshi Eurasion Tapas (500 Ala Moana Blvd., Restaurant Row, 533-4476).
Space is limited and reservations are required.
Wine & Dine
John Conover of Plumpjack & CADE wineries will play host to a winemaker's dinner, Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 3660 on the Rise (3660 Waialae Ave., 737-1177).
Starting at 6:30 p.m., the evening will start with house-cured wild salmon paired with a 2008 CADE Sauvignon Blanc, followed by pan-seared scallop served with a 2008 Plumpjack Chardonnay.
For their next three dishes, guests will indulge in country-style fried quail, braised short rib "Rossini" and pan-roasted Big Island red veal, served with a 2007 Plumpjack Syrah, 2006 CADE Howell Mtn. Cabernet Sauvignon and 2007 Plumpjack Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, respectively.
Tickets are now on sale for Oyster Jam V, Sunday, Nov. 8, from noon to 2:30 p.m. Pre-sale scrip costs $20 with a bonus of $4 more.
Wine Tasting
Master sommelier Chuck Furuya will play host to "Wine Tasting with Chuck," Thursday at Vino (500 Ala Moana Blvd., Restaurant Row, 533-4476).
Starting at 5:30 p.m., the evening will showcase a variety of Pinot Noirs, including a 2007 Dr. Becker "Estate," a 2007 Alta Maria "Bien Nacido Vineyard," a 2007 Evening Land "Seven Springs Vineyard," a 2002 Scherrer "Sonoma Coast" and a 2006 Aubert deVillaine Mercurey "Les Montots."
Cost is $39, which includes a 2-ounce pour of each wine.
The following Thursday, chef Keith Endo will feature his "Communal Table," starting at 5:30 p.m.
The four-course dinner costs $36 and includes such dishes as soy-and-sake-braised short rib cappelleti, pappardelle duck confit, crispy Kurobuta pork belly linguine and, for dessert, chocolate cannoli.
Private Dinner
Halekulani (2199 Kalia Road, 923-2311) executive chef Vikram Garg provides an exquisite dining experience at "TABLE ONE," which is held in the atrium of Orchids.
Garg will offer guests a personalized menu of five courses ($95 per person) or seven courses ($125).
Available for dinner Tuesday through Saturday and by request for lunch, TABLE ONE can accommodate four to six guests, and requires 48 hours advance notice.
Honorary Meal
Chefs at Plumeria Beach House (The Kahala Hotel & Resort, 5000 Kahala Ave., 739-8760) will roll out the red carpet for all mothers-in-law today when they prepare a special brunch buffet in their honor.
For $48, menu highlights include made-to-order omelets and eggs, carved prime rib with au jus, grilled chicken breast with tomato-caper poultry jus, braised beef, garlic mashed potatoes, seafood Newburg and sauteed fresh Island catch with soy-wasabi beurre blanc.
In celebration of Halloween, chefs will prepare a "Spooky" dinner buffet, priced at $48 for adults and $24 for keiki 5 to 12 years old. Themed dishes will include "cremated" Island roast pork with burnt ash reduction, "Salem Witch's" prime rib with witch's brew jus and "Vampire Stake" with garlic butter.
Gobble Gobble
For a casual Thanksgiving Day meal out, check out Wailana Coffee House (1860 Ala Moana Blvd., 955-1764).
As they have in previous years, cooks here will prepare such traditional holiday meals as homemade turkey-and-smoked-ham dinner ($12.25), New York steak ($16.25) and seafood Continental ($13.50).
