Ginai is a singer and songwriter from Waianae who has worked for many years to become one of Hawaii's most accomplished jazz and R&B entertainers. She has released 8 CD's in Japan, won three Hawaiian Music Awards, and a Na Hoku Hanohano award for her 1999 release "Hula Joe & The Hutjumpers." Songs from her most recent album "Jazz Island" (2006) are played on jazz stations across the country, and she is currently recording an album of original works with songwriter Lora May Azpiazu, entitled "By Invitation Only." Ginai can be found performing at The Dragon Upstairs, above Hank's Place on Nu'uanu Ave with longtime mentor and now musical partner Pierre Grill. Her scat-laced vocals and conga playing coupled with his multi-tasking on the piano, bass pedals, and trumpet make for red-hot entertainment on the new music scene in Chinatown. She has also performed in the Honolulu Symphony Pops Orchestra's Tribute to Ray Charles.
