Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko arrive at the Parker Ranch on Big Island, Hawaii on Thursday, July 16, 2009. Following a brief reception, the royal couple watched cattle roping by the famed paniolo, or Hawaiian cowboys. The Emperor and Empress spent three days in the state following an 11-day tour of Canada. They return to Japan Thursday.
