The Statehood bonfire burns with wood contributed from many parts of the world. The fire was started at 7:25 p.m. on March 12, 1959. It burned all night until 4:00a.m. the next morning. Observing the fire is Fire Chief Fedrick Edstrom left and an unidentified fire captain on the right.
