Monica Bell injects her 13-year-old daughter Taryn-Courtney Bell with insulin at their Nanakuli home as part of their daily regimen. Taryn-Courtney was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes when she was only 6. At 13, she has been on insulin injections more than half her life.
