Dixie Grill Honors WWII Veteran Ed Dodson

WWII Veteran Ed Dodson has been battling cancer for a while, but recently decided there were a few things he wanted to do with the time he has left.

He served in Europe during World War II and always wanted to visit Pearl Harbor, the place where the war started. His daughters felt they needed to bring him to Hawaii and see it for himself. They planned a special family trip in his honor.

Dixie Grill heard of the visit and the family's plans to dine at the Aiea restaurant and on October 25 planned a special Dixie Grill tribute to Mr. Dodson. His name was posted on the restaurant's signature marquis with a special message. The staff waited outside for his arrival and welcomed the WWII vet with open arms and lei.

Mr. Dodson was embarrassed by the tribute but very touched. He enjoyed his special night and spent a big part of the evening telling many stories to 13-year-old Sean Dolan who dreams of one day also having a career in the military.
