Thank you to the community for your continued support of the efforts to protect and plan for the Pupukea Paumalu on the North Shore of Oahu. Since the Trust for Public Land purchased the property in 2007, the City and State have taken ownership and the North Shore Community Land Trust (NSCLT) has mobilized the Pupukea Paumalu Stewardship Fund to develop and support a community-based planning process that will recommend stewardship activities and low-impact recreational, educational, and environmental uses.

Over the last year, the Planning Committee has held several activities, including their planning meetings and two community meetings in November 2008 and May 2009. Now, the Planning Committee and NSCLT are excited to announce the availability of the Public Review Draft of the Pupukea Paumalu Long-Range Resources Management Plan and the two public meetings to share the ideas that have been gathered.
The North Shore Community Land Trust invites the community to participate in either of two public meetings on the Draft Pupukea Paumalu Long-Range Resources Management Plan, which is now available for review at the Kahuku and Waialua Public Libraries, and on the web at northshoreland.org. The meetings will be at:
Date: Saturday, November 7, 2009
Time: 9:00 am 11:30 am
Date: Thursday, November 12, 2009
Time: 7:00 pm 9:00 pm
Both meetings will be at the Sunset Beach Elementary School cafeteria. The Management Plan is expected to be finalized early next year and will engage the City and the State landowners in the implementation of the community vision for Pupukea Paumalu.
