Kailua Surfriders Get Smart About Credit

Kailua High Surfriders Receive Bank of Hawaii Piggy Banks & Tips from National

Bank of Hawaii Kailua Branch Manager Catherine Sato led the "Get Smart About Credit" session, which focused on the fundamentals of wise credit use to about 25 high school juniors in the AVID program at Kailua High School.

Bank of Hawaii "Get Smart About Credit" sessions were also held at Moanalua High School on Oahu, and Kealakekua High School and the Hawaii Academy of Arts and Science on Hawaii Island.

Bank of Hawaii was the only Hawaii Bank to take part in the national American Bankers Association (ABA) Education Foundation's 7th Annual 'Get Smart About Credit Day' on October 15.

National Get Smart About Credit Day" is an annual event where bankers visit local classrooms to share with students the "credit facts of life." Since its inception in 2003, more than 11,000 bankers have reached more than 445,000 young people.
