Parade in honor of Veterans Day draws a crowd in Waianae

Crowds of onlookers lined Farrington Highway in Waianae yesterday for the Veterans Day Parade sponsored by the Wai'anae Military Civilian Advisory Council.

The parade, which included 32 units, marched from the Wai'anae Boat Harbor to the Wai'anae Mall. Participants included vererans organizations such as the VFW and American Legion; soldiers from Schofield Barracks, and 12 O'ahu Junior ROTC units.

There was also a JROTC Drill meet hosted by Nanakuli High School and a ho'olaule'a, with speakers and other activities at the mall following the parade, which was the 24th annual WMCAC Veterans Day Parade.
